F.A.Q.
Once the customer pays through the Means App, where does that money go?
The premium, together with the agency portion of the convenience fees go directly into the agency’s bank account. The agency transfers the premiums into their escrow account, similar to when they receive cash payments at the office. All money collected and fee splits are done by the card / ACH processor. Means never touches the premium.
When a customer is charged, does the receipt have my agency name on it?
Yes, the payment clearly identifies your agency name. Means is only the convenient payment app and does not appear on the receipt.
Does the customer have to enter their credit/debit or banking info each time?
No, any credit card and banking information will be on file with the payment processor and kept in accordance with PCI compliance. Customer only needs to click on the link to approve the payment.
What if the customer does not click the link or pay the weekly installment?
Using the built in progress bar, the agency will see a list of who is “Falling Behind” and have an opportunity to call the customer before they miss the premium due date.
What if the customer cancels their insurance policy after making some or all of the weekly payments?
If the premium is not yet earned (i.e. canceled prior to the due date), the customer will be entitled to a refund of the premium as governed by the terms of your policy document or your state insurance laws. The convenience fees are non refundable per the Means Terms and Conditions.
Are there any fees to the agency to participate in Means?
No, agency participation in Means is free to the agency. In fact, Means pays you a portion of the convenience fees!
Do you require the agency to participate or have volume requirements?
No, there is no obligation to participate but the more the agency participates, the more convenience fees the agency earns. The agency will also lower their turnover / non payment default of their non standard policies and save on labor costs typically involved in rewriting policies or tracking down delinquent payers.
